The First National Level Symposium on Noni Research
The First National Symposium on Noni Research ‘NONI SEARCH 2006’ was extremely successful in taking a giant leap towards creating a definite structure and basis to venture into further Noni Research. Unlike other ordinary academic symposiums ‘NONI SEARCH 2006’ was successful in creating a direct dialogue between cultivators, agricultural scientists, doctors and the end users, which was a highlight of the symposium.
World Noni Research Foundation (WNRF) hailed Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) as a ‘Modern Day Sanjeevani’ made available by the Mother Nature and committed itself to create a ‘Wellness Revolution’ among masses by creating adequate awareness about the plant Morinda Citrifolia (Noni).
Though WNRF has taken a giant step in Noni Research, in a very short span of time, it was widely felt that it must serious efforts in crystallizing and segregating specific areas of research more clearly and systematically so as to ensure time-bound authentic in-depth study of Noni. It was strongly felt that it is vital to establish Clinical Researches of usages of Noni with confirmed authentic reports. It was suggested that extensive study must be done on experimental research, agricultural research; Phytoconstituents in Noni Research and research on its therapeutic constituents and the role of Noni experimental research was to be exploited. Since every part of Morinda Citrifolia plant is proved to have multi-utility therapeutic applications it was decided to expand its research domain to other segments as well. Specific study on the synergetic effects of Noni on laboratory animals was suggested, as Noni had demonstrated strong synergetic effects in most of the research findings. Since Noni had multi-applications it was suggested to bring out products such as capsules, syrups, soaps, shampoos and lotions too.
It was also decided that WNRF would further study the ideal conditions for the robust growth of Noni plant all over India by advanced research. It felt the massive need to grow Noni plant all over India aggressively in a mega scale. It was suggested that the Medicinal Plant Board of India must recognize Morinda Citrifolia as a Medicinal Plant, which would help vast wasteland of India to be converted into fertile land by way of cultivating Noni. ‘This would enable us to cater to the demands of the entire world’, it was felt.
The chairperson concluded that there would be Noni Research Advisory Board, which would look into every aspect of Noni Research along with implementing all the suggestions of the Panel discussion. |

The First National Symposium
on Noni Research ‘NONI SEARCH 2006’ organized by
