Q.2:Whether Noni can be cultivated in wasteland/dry land? Ans: Yes. It can be cultivated in wasteland or dry land provided planting should be taken up before the onset of Monsoon. It is important to give eight life irrigation during the first month of planting.
Q.4:What are the other seasons to take up Noni cultivation? Ans:Noni can be planted in any season except winter provided adequate irrigation is available.
Q8:What is the investment required to cultivate one acre of Noni? Ans:During the first year an amount of Rs.29,800/- (approximately) is required/ acre. In the
subsequent years Rs.40/- to Rs.45/- is required/plant/year for maintenance.
Q9:Explain different types of Irrigation methods and water requirement? Ans: Drip irrigation or channel irrigation is advised. Water requirement is 8 - 10
Lit/Plant/Day during the initial stage of the crop. Subsequent irrigation will be given as and when required.
Q10: Whether the cultivator can go for intercropping? Ans:Yes. Intercropping is possible. The suitable crop will be suggested by INCC depending upon the area, season and soil.
Q.11:What are the Manurial Schedule for the 2nd and subsequent years? Ans:It will be based on Soil Test Results. INCC Agrl.Officer will advise suitably as and when required.
Q.12: What are all the pests and diseases attack Noni plant? Ans:There is no major pest or disease attack in Noni. However if there is any, it can be effectively controlled by organic pesticides.
Q13: When will be the first harvest starts and how long it will yield? Ans:The first harvest starts after 24 months. The Noni crop yields even after 40 years, if the field is maintained as per INCC guidelines.
Q14: What are all the supports offered by the Company? Ans:INCC Agricultural Officer will visit the field from time to time and guide from preparation of field pits, manuring, planting, plant protection, irrigation to harvesting. The cultivator will be trained in Noni Research and Training Centre also Company will help in the preparation of project report if require to the Bank.
Q15:How long the agreement (MOU) is valid and when the cultivator signs the agreement? Ans:The agreement shall be signed after receiving the payment from the cultivator and it is valid for 10 years and shall be renewed subsequently.
Q17:What is the annual yield/Tree? Ans:The yield starts from 24th month onwards.
From 24 - 36th month you will get 9 - 12 kgs/tree/year
From 37 - 48th month you will get 17 - 20 kgs/tree/year
From 49 - 60th month you will get 26 - 32 kgs/tree/year
After 100 months the yield will be approximately 100 - 120 kgs/tree/year
Q.18:Is there any buy-back facility available? Ans:Yes. INCC will purchase all the fruits at a pre-cultivated fixed price of Rs.5/- per kg under 100% buy-back agreement.
Q.20:Whether INCC will bear the transport cost? Ans:No. INCC will not bear the transport cost as the buyback price fixed is inclusive of transport cost.
Q.21: Can we spray chemical pesticides if severe attack is noticed? Ans:The Agrl.Officer of INCC will inspect the field in that case and suggest suitable control measures.
Q.22:If I am ready to cultivate Noni what should I do? Ans:First fill up the application form and Registration cum booking form along with a commitment fee of Rs.5000/- per acre. The total programme cost is Rs.15800/- per acre. The balance of Rs.10800/- per acre to be paid within a month after receiving the confirmation letter from INCC.
Q.24:When the Agrl.Officer will visit my field? Ans:INCC Agrl.Officer will visit your field after receiving the commitment fee of Rs.5000/- per acre along with the Registration-cum-Booking form.
Q.25:When the seedlings will be supplied to me? Ans:The seedlings will be ready once INCC receives the balance amount of Rs.10800/- per acre and the cultivator shall lift the seedlings from the local NRTC within 30 days.
